What has changed in our Diets ?

Updated: May 30, 2021

You will be surprised to know that more than 3000 direct and indirect common chemicals and additives are present in your daily diet, nearly 2/3rd of them are flavourings used to replace the natural flavours lost during processing of food

Our diets have changed drastically. In fact our diet have changed more in the last 30 years than they did in the previous hundered years. The foods you are eating today are over processed, grease soaked, sugar filled and chemical laden, as compared to the fresh whole foods your ancestors ate.

Through pasteurisation, homogenisation, high heat and mechanical processing , your food are deprived of its nutrients to such an extent that your food has to be enriched by artificially adding back some of the nutrients lost. this is especially true with white flour where some vitamins are added back after the processing is done. the more processing a food goes through, the more nutrient value it loses.

Apart from processing other factor that has played an integral role in making the food items nutrient deficit is usage of excess fertilisers , urea, pesticides and other chemicals. this has badly effected the quality of soil and the quality of food that soil produces. of-course the quantity is much higher to meet the increasing population but it has significantly taken out almost 80% of micronutrients from our plates, leading a huge nutrient gap which again gives various lifestyle disorders and auto immune disorders.

Concern here is not only we have to discuss about the gap which has been created by humans for humans, the whole story is it has affected everyone be it young or old , common man or sportsman. the overall performance has dipped , more immunity and energy related problems has increased.

We together can fight this common concern an help ourselves, others and our generations with the simple solution to eat organic food and don't look at the price of the products rather look at the quality of food.

very common example i would share to open up the thoughts is We humans drive best of the best cars and always like to put best of the best engine oil , do timely service and take care of our vehicle. but when it comes to our own body we start looking and comparing the prices rather than quality of food and supplements.
